Bringer of cake

So its sunday already. Where do the days go? Weve had craft day today, always eventful. The idea is that if you couldnt make a class for some reason heres your chance to catch up. Everyone is doing different projects and I run around like a mad woman, trying to sort them all out.

Today went really smoothly though - could it have been the addition of cake. One of my lovely, lovely ladies Elaine is not very well but whenever she does she always brings homemade cake. I cant eat cake due to my many intolerances but I have to confess I am a secret cake sniffer!! Oh yes give me a cake and the first thing I do is sniff - hard. Thats all, no nibbling tasting or stuffing it in, just sniffing.

Forgot to mention yesterday that the lovely Jeanne brought me a pressie. Its a cup and spoon, complete with emergency teabag, all my out of basic Grey paper. Fab isnt it. Can you see the spoon? She scanned one and then curved the bowl. It can go sit on my cupboard next to my Tims teabags. Thanks Jeanne.

Finished another christmas project off today so heres a sneak peek ( yes still no Ben ha ha, tho I am sure he will rollock me tomorrow).

Forgot to tell you Kirstie Wiseman ( bezzie mate and scrapbooking goddess) is going to be teaching a class for me in Nov. And I have persuaded her to do a monthly spot after christmas. Now we all know I am not renowned for my scrap booking expertise and in my eyes she is THE BEST!!!! Cant wait but be warned I think it will sell out straight away so you will need to book on preview to be in with a chance.

Still no news from Lance ( Mr Pickle), I ,ll give him to the middle of the week and then hes in big trouble lol.
Ok gotta go now and carry on working ready for preview. Enjoy!!

Sneaky peeks (Bens not here) lol

YEEEYYY its Friday!! Although I work all weekend I always feel better when it gets to Friday. I think its all those years of going out partying!! I ve got Pete Tong (Radio 1) blasting out those dance tunes and I am partying around the studio whilst setting up for tomorrows class. Its a good job Ben and Ems have already left. They really despair of me sometimes lol whilst waiting for me to mature and age gracefully. NEVER I say never.

Whilst Ben isnt here I have taken some sneaky pics of some of Nov/Dec workshops. Couldnt wait till next week. Patience has never been my strong point lol!! Also been playing around with canvas, calico, and hessian!!.SSSHHHH will reveal all later.

Something that I am itching to get my hands on is the 7gypsiesMOULIN 97% complete journal kit. It comes complete with decorated pages and dividers (both double sided) pockets journaling cards and stickers. The colours are just gorgeous. For those of you who are frightened of starting journalling it is a fab base to work from. I dont think I would use it all as one but would split it and incorporate it into other projects. I would give you a link but - youve guessed it - I cant remember how to do it ha ha . ( Note to self ask Ems to show me again) But if you go to http://www.afth.co.uk/ and look under 7gypsies you will find it.

So what I am I dancing around in,in the studio. Well you cant rave in heels so luckily today I am wearing my trusty Uggs. (Please never ever let them go out of fashion!!)

Have a beaut weekend whatever you are doing. Be like me and only do stuff you love!

Journal peeks

Well its going well so far. Ive only lost a few pictures along the way. Still cant get the spacing right tho!! Never mindI am sure I will get better lol.

I have spent the day working really hard on the new samples. Wanted to give you a few sneak peaks but Ben (he who must be obeyed) has banned me until next week. So sorry about that. Preview days will be Sun 19th and Mon 20th October and I will tell you more about it later.

I have joined a worldwide art journal round robin (try saying that late on a Sat night!!). There are 10 of us all participating and I am really looking forward to it. It is always fab to see other peoples work and even better that you eventually get to keep it. Like building up your own little art gallery. The only panic is what will other people think of your art. Still love it or hate its a little bit of me.

Thought I would show you a few more pages from my journal. If you remember I was going to do a page a day for the whole month. Did I do it ?? Did I heck (laughing my a**e off) But at least I had fun. I would say that I will try harder this month but I cant see it. I am a deadline kind of gal. Everything is always right up to the deadline (just ask all the editors I work with lol). But ufortunately when its your own you can just keep shifting the deadline cant you?

Got a really busy weekend coming up. Life book album on Sat and Craft day on Sun. There are still a few places left and I would include photos and a link but I cant remember how to do it lol!!!

Ben will kill me tomorrow. But you can always go onto http://www.afth.co.uk/ and look under workshops.

I,m working late tonight. I am waiting for a call from Lance (Mr Rusty Pickle himself) . He rang last night is checking dates and supposedly ringing back tonight to confirm. But it would easier to plait wind than rely on him!! But he is worth it I think he is a fab teacher and really interacts with the class. If you have never been taught by him before you are in for a treat. I just need to keep him sweet with pizza and pickles !! Hopefully tho I should be able to give you workshop details and dates in the next few days. Its strange here on a night cos there is always lots of big macho men attending the TaeKwondo ( have I spelt that right?). Its on the floor above me and all you can hear is loud grunts and bangs!!! So I have whacked up the cd player to drown them out. It would make me laugh if they were having to do all there moves in time to my Northern Soul!!

pyjama party!!!

Are abscesses catching I wonder. Poor Ems ( goddess extraordinaire) has now got one so is in pain and really miserable. I think we are the antibiotic family!!! And Ben has now put his back out at rugby so they are a real barrel of laughs!! I meanwhile have got my mojo back, finally, which is a good job as I am charging around like a mad woman (no change then).

Loads of people have commented about the journaly canvas that I made. Whenever they visit the studio they are always shocked at the size of it . Apparently on the blog it looks quite small. So heres a life size pic to give you a better idea.

My older girls art class decided to come themed tonight, they all turned up in night wear complete with eye masks slippers and teddies. They want to repeat it next week and are making me join in. As I actually dont have any night wear (well none that I can be seen in public with) I am going to have to go out and buy some. They have just all finished making a technique mirror. They have done a fab job and really enjoyed doing it. They are now starting on the covers for their art journals, using lots of the techniques they learnt.

Shoe watch. No new shoes to report today so I thought I would show you a pic of where I keep some of them. I love my shoes so like to keep them on display in my room where I can see them. Simple pleasures are the best.

Talking about pleasurable things I am absolutely loving the new Killers single - Human. It reminds of their old stuff and I cant stop singing it. Ben is in despair as they are his favourite band and I am just killing them for him!! lol

gypsy love!!

so it worked YEY!!and what a proud little bunny I was. I am expecting my 20mtr blogging certificate in the post any day now. Oh yes blogging without armbands is worth all the sore fingers (Cant quite master this drag and drop lark, which is why my photos have adistinct quirky placement). So onward and upward.

Today was a good day, stroking all the new 7gypsies stash, whilst drooling and dribbling. They are my absolute fave company for hardware, no-one beats them and I luuurve it when we get a new delivery. Only problem is as fast as I am sneaking it all out of the shop to under my desks Ben is scooping it all up and putting it back in. Hes geting a bit too wise for my liking lol. He say its like dealing with a wayward child!!!. You wouldnt think I am supposed to be in charge would you. Still someone to needs to have some business sense I suppose and it was never gonna be me. Managed to keep some though so dont tell.

He got it all out in the shop by lunch. We now have so much it takes up the whole wall at one side. Ive posted some photos so you too can drool. Love it when you see it all like this.

The new papers ( the Savannah collection) is double sided and absolutely gorgeous. not allowed to play with it just yet as still behind with my new samples, and I have a pile of magazine articles stacking up as well. But I did one of my new mini albums in the Nottinghill papers and generally made a mess. For all of you who see me at shows and comment how neat and tidy I am just take a look at this work area!!! I have three large work areas and they all end up looking the same. One of these days I will pluck up the courage to show you then hang my head in shame ha ha .

She watch - forgot that I never posted these shoes after talking about them weeks ago. Red , high, strappy - very Dorothy. Just click your heels and you are home!!!

can it work??

hey all . You cant believe how much it meant to me that I personally posted the last blog. I am so proud and keep going to check that it is still there ( I know how sad) The goddess that is (Ems) did help of course even tho it took hours. At times she couldnt help for laughing or were they tears of despair - not sure!!! lol. Anyway it has fired me up to try it all by myself. I am sat on my bed , rosary beads in one hand so here we go!!! Apologies if after this nothing makes sense.

Frst thing i want to show u is part of a project my mate Su is doing. She was stuck for ideas of how to update herr girls many school portraits. Weve thrown lots of ideas around and come up with this and its really cool. She is great at her art but lacks confidence so brought it to show me. I think it looks fab and so she is going to doa lot more to match. They will all be on block canvas,s,(diff sizes) all different colours, but with the negative theme running thru to combine them.

Su keep going I think your hall will look ace when you have finished and then you can start on mine!! lol

I have treated myself this week to some "me art time" I have joined an online art class with Suzi Blu. Its called Petite dolls and artt healing journals. When I will get the time I just dont know but I am determined to. Her style is not what I am used to but I absolutely love it! Go check her out here http://www.suziblu.typepad.com/ . You will love her . she lives in her own little world and I want to visit it.

I am an absolute sucker for magazines (especially anything to do with interiors or fashion) and I found a beauty today. Its called Another Magazine. Its not cheap £6.95, yes you heard bme correctly but its only bi annual and worth every penny I feel. It has page after page of stunning images of fashion. I am going to combine them with my love of art journaling so watch this space!!! My head is absolutely buzzing with inspiration and I have only had time for a quick flick through. Cant start it yet though as I am supposed to be finishing all the Nov/Dec workshop samples ha ha . I am so easily distracted arent I. But fear not Ben (he who must be obeyed and unbribeable) has threatened me with near death if I dont buckle down. He has also bribed me by letting me steal lots of the new 7gypsies goodies to use. More about those tomorrow.

Right its now time to add all the links and photos and this is where it will prob all go wrong so fingers crossed ha ha

Oh quick shoe watch - in bed so just barefoot lol.

getting to grips with technology!!!

Bumper one today!!!

Firstly a big linky shout out to Calv who has left me a glowing report on his blog. He came to visit the shop with his girlfriend and friend. I was running around like a mad thing as usual but they were really friendly and enthusiastic, so it was a pleasure to spend time with them.It is so nice to receive lovely comments and is really appreciated. I checked out his blog http://www.mishapsinthemaking.blogspot.com/ and i really recommend you take a look. He has some really cool ideas and it is so nice to see a man in the crafting world. I love the fact he talks about all the things that go wrong, I have always said that the reason I know what I do is because I have done everything wrong again and again!!!! So Calv keep it up and thankyou.

Fridays class was the Paper Artsy house tags. We had great fun with it. I made a new sample in different colours and used the Blonde Moments Friends Junction papers.I love it and not sure which I prefer now. OOh toughy that, I didnt think anything could topple my fave pink and turquoise. Maybe its cos winter is fast setting in?

Saturday seemed to be manic in the shop and studio with people in and out all day (sat is normally our quietest day), not necessarily buying but coming for advice or to show me projects or ideas. I love it when you show me projects you have done. One of my customers Kate bought some of the Claudine Hellmuth paints from me at the Harrogate show and I did warn her that she would need them all. Well I was right she did and she has!!! She had made some lovely Atcs with the paints so I thought I would share them with you.
Not sure if you can pick up the vibrancy from this. Seriously these paints should come with an addiction warning. Be warned lol !!

Sunday Ispent sat in bed all day trying to master the lap top. I am determined that I will get the hang of it. I did really well (Emmi is now passing out with shock!!). I loaded things, I worked out how to attatch photos to emails and get the photos on in the first place. I know, I know all simple stuff to the rest of you but massive for me!!! lol I am always conscious that I dont blog enough and it is because Ben and Emmi are not always around or r too busy! This way it will be down to me. So be prepared for some odd blogs - upside down photos etc. I will do my best.

Shoe watch - is a repeat of my fave "Art" boots but I wanted to show you my tights.I think they are so cool and nice and warm in this chilly spell. Maisie( the most beautiful granddaughter in the whole world) likes them. She said I look just like her!!! Not quite the look I was going for but I still love em.

Talking of Maisie - check out this photo. Maisie with her little friend Ruby. They look so sweet dont they? Maisie looks massive next to Ruby though? Makes you realise how quick they grow up!! Check out Maisies silver footie boots. Maybe she should join shoewatch lol

OOOhh just landed - the 7gypsies order. Ben is ripping the boxes open as we speak. Ooh gotta go and investigate ha ha !!
