I said there would be tears..!!!

Day 2 of the Art Journaling weekend got off to a great start, the class were really attentive, learning and applying paint effects to their pages. We then got down to colour theory and colour and emotion, this always provokes a lot of thought and a lot of discussion. They were then thrown in the deep end and had to create their very first page. they were given a colour and an emotion and had to go with it. They rose to the challenge beautifully and produced some brill pages. And then of course the tears started, one by one, like dominos they fell. Sounds horrible but it is in fact really cathartic and moving, and I always feel really privileged that people feel safe enough in my studio to let down their defences and begin their journey.  A quick boost of sugar always brings the colour back, and a big thankyou to Judes Mum for sending home made scotch tablet. If you have never heard of it, it is heart attack fodder,!!! butter, sugar and condensed milk. Luckily you struggle to eat more than one piece, lol.

After a fabby lunch. of course cooked by the gorgeous Pam, we got down to the nitty gritty of expressing our felings and writing. Easy when you are given all the little hints and tips that smoooth things along. The trick I find is to give them a lolly to shut them up and make them answer real quick so they don't get time to chew it over.!!!! Then it was making colour cards and finishing off of pages. At the end of the day we were all tired, emotional but happy and raring to go on tomorrow. Here thay all are hard at work.

Big, big , thanks to Judes hubby, the lovely Paul, who managed to get my iphone to actually sync with itunes - you are a star...!!

Went and spent the evening with my girlies, journaling , eating Chinese and watching trashy Sat night TV - pure heaven...
