The Dylusions Facebook Challenge Group

The Dylusions Facebook challenge group was set up by Sandra with the backing of Dyan. It's a monthly themed challenge, and Its a fantastic way to get you using all your Dylusions products and doing a theme you wouldn't normally chose to do yourself.
The Dylusions Facebook challenge group recently celebrated its first year and I have said every month that I am going to participate... (holding my head in shame right now) this month is the first ever month I have actually completed the challenge with literally just hours to spare!!

It's fantastic for inspiration, I love seeing what everyone else creates. You don't have to complete the challenge every month... there are no rules other than using Dylusions products to the monthly theme with the added bonus of if you win the monthly challenge you get to help decide the next months theme!

Octobers theme was Black & White which was really out of my comfort zone as I always use colour... However in doing so I have re-descovered my love for doodling!!

I literally could not stop doodling!!! I loved the technique of drawing round the stencils then adding doodles to the images.

Here I have drawn around the Leaves Stencil on the Dylusions Square Journal

And here it is doodled with a black pen

I have done the same but in the New Dylusions Black Square Journal with a white pen

I have drawn round the Holes Stencil with a black pen

I have then coloured around the outside of the holes with a thick black pen

I have then doodled with black & White pen

And then here is my first ever completed Facebook challenge page!! Yipeeeee

Link to the Facebook challenge group (everyone welcome!)

I hope you enjoy them.

Monster Mash

We've been very busy carving our pumpkins ready for Halloween,
our inspiration this year is Lulu the pussy cat from the stamp Winston & Lulu

Meow!!

Even Twiglett the bulldog joined in the fun of carving the pumpkin!... although I think she was more interested in eating it!!!

We would absolutely love to see what you have all been busy making if you'd like to share them with us?

Here's a few of last years decorations that we are re-using because we just love them!!

Monster & Skeleton Garlands made using the Monster mash & Day of the heads stamps

Spooky hanging skeletons made using the very groovy Mr Boney maloney

Creepy crawly cup cake toppers made using the Monster Mash & Dy's Alphabet stamps. I have then coloured them in using the Dylusions inks, they are great fun to make especially if you have little ones around to help!

And of course to finish of with some Spooktacular tags!

I hope you've enjoyed our Spooktacular treats & we'd love to see yours too!!

Love, Jay

Christmas came Early...

Hello, Jay here!

I'd like to introduce myself, for those of you who don't know who I am… My names Jay, Dyan's eldest daughter, I work for the Dylusions design team. I recently got married to my best friend & gorgeous husband Tom. Thank you to everyone for all your well wishes & kind comments.

Here's a cheeky picture of us on the most wonderful day of my life.

And of course more importantly the beautiful Mother of the Bride!!!

Sadly this means I am no longer a 'Reaveley' I am now known as Mrs Jay Moore... Hopefully my surname change won't confuse you all too much!

As Dyan is extremely busy teaching you all fabulous projects, techniques & travelling to share them with as many of you as possible, I will be appearing more on here to help keep you all updated with new products and fabulous samples!… I hope you don't mind too much!

I wanted to show you all what we make with our tag samples, we normaly use them in our journaling or I LOVE to make Christmas cards with them by simply jazzing them up with a little bit of ribbon! I know it's only October but it's never too early to start making christmas cards, gift wrap & gifts!! Here's a few cards I've made this week mainly using the new Dylusions stamp set 'Stocking fillers', I hope you enjoy them.

Here's some gorgeous simple tag backgrounds, I've painted them with the Dylusions paints & stamped the images in black ink.

Stamp the christmas tree stamp & colour in using the Dylusions inks. I LOVE the bright colours & so simple to make!

Inked mix media card stock using pink sprays. Stamped 3 heart stamps with black ink & add ribbon.

The following have been made using the stencils & paint then doodled with black pen.

Once I've used the stencils sometimes I like to doodle round them with a black pen to make the image really stand out.

I hope you all have a great weekend & myself or Dyan will be back soon with some more samples.
Love, Jay x

Christmas Journal Page Step out and contest winners.....

My new Christmas stamp set, Stocking Fillers, is absolutely flying out of the door and Jay has a ton more samples to show you.

But I thought I would do a quick step out of a journal page background, to show that you can use them for bigger projects

I started by doing my blocking technique in Christmas colours. I used Fresh Lime, Cut Grass. Squeezed Orange and Postbox Red Dylusions paints.

Once you have covered the pages in blocks of colour, go over each colour again to make it more solid.

Take the stencil and add Squeezed orange snowflakes onto all the Cut Grass blocks.

Repeat this method onto the other blocks.
I used Cut Grass Holly on the Fresh Lime
Fresh Lime snowflakes on the Postbox Red.
Postbox Red holly on the Squeezed Orange.
Not sure why but the colours are really off on the photo below :-(

I inked up the Merry Christmas stamp with black Archival ink

And stamped it onto one of the colour blocks.

And repeated this across the page with the remaining stamps.

I then outlined the stencil images with a black pen

Finally I added faux stitching around the blocks, giving it the appearance of a patchwork quilt.

And here are the lucky winners from the Blog giveaway, a few weeks ago.
