Exciting news...

Thank you so much for your lovely comments on my last post. It took me a while to press publish and I am so glad that I did. The next morning the first thing I saw on fb was this...

Unfortunately I have no idea who to give credit to for the artwork (please let me know if you do )

But it just meant so much to me. No matter what we look like on the outside we are all fighting demons on the inside that no one else can see.

We can either choose to keep silent about this raging battle, to save face in front of others, or we can open up, lay ourselves bare and start to heal!

"When you stand and share your story
in an empowering way,
your story will heal you
and your story will heal someone else..."

Ivanla Vanzant

My teaching is all based upon healing and empowering oneself through art and so I was thrilled to be asked to teach in next years Life Book 2014.

“Life Book, a celebration and honouring of YOU”is a year-long mixed media art classorganised by Tamara Laporte from Willowing Arts.
Tam is joined by 22 incredible art teachers who are all gearing up to share their mixed media techniques, tips and tricks with YOU! Themed around self-development and healing, you’ll be creating several loose mixed media art journal pages per month which by the end of the year you will bind into a glorious journal (a Life Book)! You will have a wonderful keepsake that you can treasure for the rest of your life!

You can find more information HERE

Registration doesn't start until Oct 7th but I wanted you to know all about it now.

I am joining some fabulous tutors on this course, some new and some returning from Life Book 2013.

I didn't comment on you last post as it hit me quite deeply, and I didn't know what to say. But I think you are very brave, I find it very difficult to journal my feelings, but hopefully will be able to one day.xxx

I have been thinking about your last post since I read it. It is so rare in today's world, even with fb and twitter, that we see the true side of anyone. That's because it is so scary. With your bravery, you've got the upper hand on dealing wih what life throws at you. I remember you blogging about this several years ago and loo how full your life is today. I follow your adventures with great joy in your ability to live life to the fullest. My 36 y/o daughter is bipolar, has won a battle with anorexia/bulimia and has chronic medical issues. So I have some insight into the struggle for you to live in a world that can be difficult at best. I'm grateful to have your story to share with her.
The classes sound awesome. Can't wait tolearn more.
Hugs

Darn. I know it's a good price but I can't afford that. My house payment just sky rocketed and I'm scrambling to try and keep my house now.

I've just now seen your last post, and applaud you for being so open with your struggles! I recently wrote a post along these same lines, accompanied by a journal page entitled I Am Not Ok. I'm a big believer that sharing our struggles helps others to know that they are not alone, and to find strength in numbers. Your Vanzant quote summed it up beautifully.
Thank you Dyan, for your bravery and beauty!

Hi, Dyan! I am so pumped that you are one of the instructors for Life Book 2014! I love your vivacious, spunky style!

By the way, I wanted to letcha know that the link from the Life Book 2014 blog hop to your site is broken. It points to http://www.dyan-reavely.blogspot.com/ instead of http://dyan-reaveley.blogspot.com/ Just thought you'd like to know, so you could ask for it to be updated / fixed! I'm sure others would love to "discover" you!
