World Book Night

Ooops, yes I know I've been missing in action. Mixture of up to my eyeballs in work, actually having a life and socialisng, and getting the lurgy.... Sorry if you missed me..
I have, in the meantime, been working extremeley hard on workshops for the preview day Sat 26th March. There are some fabby classes for you all and I am dying to show you but Our Ben has strapped a restraining order on me, lol. We will be holding workshops n the studio on preview day and I will give you the details shortly.
Many of you will have heard of World Book Day, Mar 3rd. This year the first ever World Book Night was launched, with one million books being made available to give away. I was lucky enough to be chosen as one of the book givers and I have 48 copies of my chosen book to give away.
I am an avid reader and always have been and the book I chose is Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes. I stumbled across this book and instantly fell in love with the author and her wonderful way of storytelling. She is well documented as being an recovering alcoholic and suffers desperately from severe depression, and yet writes the most fantastic novels.
If you would like to become the proud owner of one of these books and become part of history, then here s what you have to do.

1. Unfortunately you need to be local to me as I have no provision for posti ng out to you.
2. You need to think about a book that you would recommend others to read, and bring me a copy nto the studio. (This needn't be a new copy)
3.Insert a little note into the book about why you think others would enjoy it.

When I have 48 books donated I will let you all know, and then you need to come back for your FREE copy of Rachels Holiday plus one of the donated books. So you will be getting 2 books for the price of one, so to speak.  The sooner we get the books in, the sooner I can get them back out again.

Right I am off to write in each of the 48 copies its unique World Book Night number.

Enjoy xx

Ooh Books, Love books. But the big problem would be finding one to give in. I like to keep my books once read(don't know why maybe just the collector in me)Hmmm this will be hard but I will try. Glad you are ok, I was wondering where you were about to, figured it was being busy. Can't wait to see the new classes. Now that I can get myself there it will be easier. Have a wonderful evening. Hi Dyan,
I love the idea of World book day as I read on the train every day. I'm on the altered book workshop at the weekend so if you have enough volunteers by then I'd love one of the books. I could add it to our work library afterwards. I'm happy to donate another book too.
Kind regards, Anne E

What a brilliant idea! I love books, Wish I lived nearer and not just because of the book exchange! I'd love to be able to attend your classes. But I'm way down here in west Cornwall. Love watching your tutorials on you tube. Hopefully there'll be some on line ones soon or perhaps a DVD. But wonder if ever you'll find the time in your busy life
Hugs Joy x

My heart palpitated-so excited!! Isn't it grand to have that affect on someone? Avid reader since childhood so I will check out this author! Oh thank you, thank you so much!
I am very excited to have won your amazing tag!!!!
Sorry it has taken so long for me to reply (no internet for a week), But I have now sent you an e mail Dyan. Hope I am not too late?!!!
I love books too!
I found at a boot sale my most favourite nursery rhyme book, the poor man didn't quite know what to do with this demented woman that went into almost complete meltdown over a kids book!!!!
Well I am quite 'normal' really (to me anyway)!!!
