Ending with a bang..

Yup my last US teaching trip of 2014 ended at the fabulous Scrapbooking Studio in Moline.

The gorgeous Amy picked us up from the airport and we just happened to fall into a mall on the way to the store!!!

First port of call was here

Just checking if there were any Our Ben didn't own!

Amy was rather taken with the selection of glasses

Whilst I was looking for a hat for the wedding lol.

Maybe not…

The next day we arrived at the store ready to do all the prep.

The studio also has a great range of fabric for sale and I couldn't resist.

Amy was rather taken with some I had brought with me!

Saturday we were all busy making the stitched canvas journal. Even Jay joined in.

Jay has known me sew for all of her life and has never ever had the inclination, but once on the machine we couldn't get her off!!!!

We also had unexpected visitors wearing Christmas outfits

I found out that Disney on Ice was playing opposite our hotel so Jay got an early birthday treat.

Sunday started with the stitched Christmas decorations

And now Jay is hooked I had her working on a new interpretation for the spring.

Afternoon was time for one of my most popular classes, the large canvas.

We finished off with a fabulous meal in fabulous surroundings

I am now back on UK soil and would like to say a massive thank you to all the fabulous store owners and students who I have had the pleasure to cross paths with this year. Heres to the same next year.

BTW this blog is brought to you by the delights of jet lag !!!

I am demoing all day at my own store, Art from the Heart, we are having our Winter workshop preview day.

Heres a sneak preview of some of the upcoming classes

Hope you can join us

Enjoy xx

Wow!! Awesome art work ladies!! I love the sewing on the journals, it adds a unique touch. I'm hoping "Santa" will have a sewing machine under the tree for me this year, lol. I'm saving for one. Ohhhh, Dyan - I'd LOVE to play in one of your classes, it would be a "hoot", lol

We had a FABulous time at the Taster Day Dyan, it was great to try out the techniques and choose what classes to do next year.

The canvas journals are so tactile, the driftwood pieces a joy and Karen's wreath amazing!

Merry Christmas to all at AFTH, thank you for sharing so much :-) xxx
