THE social event of the year, no less.....
Oops missed a day somewhere, somehow. Did start one yesterday when I got home after teaching 2 childrens birthday parties, making yesterdays challenge tag, prepping class for tomorrow, making samples for preview, visiting the girlies, sorting Ben a tree, folding all the washing, internet Christmas shopping and akeeping an eye on my Ebay auctions. It was then I discovered I had left the camera at the studio. Duh.!! So I abandoned the post thinking I could redo it this morning and then promptly forgot all about it, lmao.
It's now 11 pm and I have just finished everything else so it's now time to blog.....
As you all know we always have a preview day where you can come and see all the new projects for the following two months of workshops. Well this time we are making it a little different. We will still be having the preview ( of course its always touch and go wether I will get all the projects finished or not, Our Ben visibly ages over these remaining two weeks). But we are also having a taster/demo day. The lovely Sandy Poppins and Kate Crane are both teaching some of next brochures classes for me and so it is a little introduction for you. Sandra is a whizz at scrapbooking and mini albums whereas Kate is the Queen of inky/messy/painty. We will be having 3 taster classes that day.
Kate 10 - 11am
Sandra 12 - 1pm
Moi -2 -3pm
The classes cost £5.00 which will be refunded from your purchases on the day. We are having to limit you to 2 classes each I,m afraid to give as many as we can a chance. As to what we are teaching, well it could be anyones guess really, lol. If only to give Ben a few grey hairs.!!! They will be inky, painty, stampy, messy and most importantly lots of fun. Pick a teacher and enjoy the mystery tour..
Myself and Bezzie Su will be demoing all day long so you can come and hang around as we bicker at each other and provide you with endless entertainment.
The lovely Katie will be whizzing around answering your questions, taking your bookings and totting up your purchases.
I haven,t yet got round to asking the gorgeous frizzle of frizzleness. Marie, if she is available for hire, but heres hoping she hasn't got anything more pressing, or exciting on that day. Mind you what could be more thrilling than being here with us lot..?? Okay don;t answer that one, lol.
The stupendous Sexy Susie has not been asked because it would be nigh on impossible for her to have the day off from running her mahoosive retail empire on the biggest buying day of her year. Though again why people would want to battle throught the crowds when they could be joining us is a complete mystery, don't you think?? She will however be here in presence as we all periodically sing Dr Hooks "when you're in love with a beautiful women" and smile fondly.!!
Have I sold it to you yet..?? This promises to be THE event of the year, never mind your Christmas parties, and don't even get me started on the Royal wedding, this is the one that will eclipse them all. Ok nuff said get over HERE and book your spot before it's too late.
PS any offers of cake, muffins, mince pies or other little tit bits gratefully recieved. All profits to charity as per usual. And any tea makers and redundant washer uppers who have nothing pressing on that day, I am sure if you ask nicely, I can find you a job..!!!
So onto the |Advent challenge.
Hows about this one from 8 year old Joseph. Its pretty nifty to say the least and he cut the bird out all by himself. Mr Holtz you'd better keep on your toes, thats all I can say.!!
Joseph is Kates son, and she has a new tag on her blog...
And Sandy is loving being snowed in in Yorkshire and making tags like a madwoman...
And the lovely Chris (fellow Northern Soulie I might add) has got her own version going in her journal. Yes Chris it does count. One of these days I will get round to blogging some fabby journal pages of Chris's, you know, when I get a minute lol.
Here was yesterdays menu
and the result
and heres today's
and the result
Right so its back to the Quality Street and Les Miserables....... Heaven.
PS, Jane (which one I,m not sure, lol), with the brother who did the lighting, I've only one thing to say....
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Deck the halls......
Well its done, the house is sppotless and the deccies are up. Now as you all know I am the original Mother Christmas and my house normally resembles a grotto, but this year I have been having trouble with the Christmas spirit, just not feeling it. So I have only put about half the normal amount up this year. I had a fabulous assistant, the adorable Maisie Moo. We ate Cadbury's Bubbly bar drank Dandelion and Burdock and sang carols. What better way to spend a Saturday evening..??
Heres my fave bits, can you guess which ones Maisie was responsible for..?
the Advent tag challenge has some cool tags for you to look at.
Gerries was right up my street.
and Sandra is having a ball being snowed in.
Heres my ingredients for today
and heres the result 15 mins later.
Enjoy xx

Master of the House....
Ooh I treated myself today. Les Miserables has always been my favourite ever, ever, EVER musical. It has a lot of memories for me. Mum and Dad loved it as well and it always brought tears to everyones eyes, in a good way. We saw it live many a time and the girlies and I know it word for word. This year saw the 25th anniversary and they marked the occasion with 2 sell out performances at the O2, which were relayed live to cinemas around the world. They have now released the live recording on DVD and I snatched it up into my grubby little hands and ran as fast as I could back to my studio to watch it. I have been singing my little head off ever since and its put a definite spring back in my step Yeehah !!
So a few more of you are joining in the tag challenge.

This is who I am, like it or not.......
Because I have spent the last few days snowed in, I have had a lot of time to think. You know the old saying...
"You can't please all of the people all of the time"
Well I've realised another...
"You can't please some of the people any of the time"...!!
At the moment most things I say or do seem to be misinterpreted by someone, whenever I open my mouth my size 8 foot goes straight in it as well.!! I've always felt different from the rest of "normal" society. I don't do the things that others do, and I have come to terms and learnt to embrace that eclectic "difference" that sets me apart. I am tenacious, stubborn, hyperactive, frikkin unbelievably obstinate, difficult, outspoken, honest, easily wounded, opinionated, touchy, un believably unsociable to the point of reclusive, hard working, sarcastic, perfectionist, bulimic, damaged and at times a right arse....
And these things, as Bezzie pointed out to me today are what have enabled me to survive through all the shit I've waded through all these years.
I am also extremeley faithful, fiercely protective, thoughtful, giving, loving, listening, sharing, quick witted, barking, impulsive, shy, generous, loyal, scaredy cat, frightened of saying the wrong thing and upsetting someone.I don't mean anyone any harm and it would break my heart if I thought I had hurt you.
All these facets of my personality, good or bad, make me the person I am today. Some will like me, some won't and some won't give a flying frikk either way. What matters is what I feel about me, at the moment its not brilliant, its like trying to walk up an escalator thats going down, but I know this will change.
Relationships, with family, friends or lovers don't always break up because they don't love you anymore. They sometimes break up because they can't cope with you any more..!!! This doesn't mean you should beat yourself up about it. You can only be YOU....I can only be ME...
"We build our walls not to keep people out,
but to see if any one is prepared to climb over them...!"
Some will, but only if you stop kicking the ladder away from under their feet..!!!!
Spending time with yourself is a great leveller, forcing you to meet yourself head on. I',m not painting, journaling, drawing or creating. I am listening. Listening to that inner voice inside of me. It's that long since I paid it any attention that it's really hard to hear, but if I concentrate and listen hard enough I'm sure I will hear its calling to me.
Looking out of the window the other day in the dark, I could see my reflection in the glass. The snow was thick and fast swirling around. It felt as though I was inside a snow globe. How cool would that be? People could pick you up and shake you as hard as they liked, but you would always be protected by the glass, like an invisible coat of armour, and eventually the snow would gradually settle leaving you in a serene state once more. A protective bubble. Not sure if it's protecting me from the outside world, or the outside world from me, lol.
Sooooo day 2 of the Advent challenge. Are you joining in yet? The gorgeous Sandy Poppins has posted her first tag, using my favourite of the sayings.
